QCA and DREAM Present: Inaugural Lavender Ceremony
On May 13th, 2022, the University of Maryland, Baltimore: School of Social Work hosted its first-ever Lavender Ceremony. Lavender Ceremony is an annual ceremony conducted on numerous campuses to honor LGBTQIA+ students and acknowledge their achievements and contributions to the University. The Dean of the School of Social Work spoke with faculty, staff, and a student speaker. Fourteen LGBTQ+ MSW graduates were honored by the Class of 2022. I and five other MSW students planned the program agenda, lined up speakers, and conducted outreach and advertising. My personal responsibilities were to finalize the program schedule, create the advertising, and conduct outreach for UMB community members to attend.

Meal Packing with Meals on Wheels and Moishe House Baltimore
On December 18th, 2021 from 11:30AM-2:30PM at Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland, Moishe House Baltimore and Community Members assisted in packing meals for homebound individuals. Meals on Wheels (MOW) helps homebound individuals by delivering lunches and dinners to them on a regular basis. During the volunteer shift each person assisted with food prep, meal packing, clean up, and preparation for transport so the delivery drivers could deliver the meals to those in need.
Live Chat with Recruitment Coordinator
This virtual program was created as a graduate recruitment efforts for the University of Maryland, School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation (flyer designed by Jelena Djakovic). With support from the Director of Student Services Brent Hernandez, I used zoom and had the support of two current graduate students answering questions about degree options, admissions, financial aid, and more. The program was done at night to accommodate working professional and current undergraduate students then recorded for future use.


Disney: Are we all Princesses?
In honor of Women's Heritage Month, this program was created to help Universities at Shady Grove students critically think about the representation of women and gender in general in one of the biggest media companies- Disney. The program was a structured discussion reflecting on body image, gender stereotypes, and diversity reflected in the media. The program also featured a panel of experts in multi-cultural affairs, gender studies, and media and communications to discuss the issues and answer student questions. This program was done with the support of Coordinator Iris Schauerman.
ACES Community Service Visit
This program was a joint initiative of an educational workshop about community service, and an event to gain volunteer experience in the local community. ACES students at Universities at Shady Grove and Montgomery College first attended the workshop to learn how volunteer experience can benefit your resume and future career path. With the support of ACES Coach Jessica Diaz-Council and CEO Coach Melissa Herrera, on Saturday Dec. 1st ACES students attended Albert Einstein High School and John F .Kennedy High School to mentor and tutor Saturday School students in English and Math.

Color Your Stress Away: Final Edition
This program occurred in Erickson Hall at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County to assist college students coping with final exams stress. The program was a partnership with another Resident Assistant to have fun coloring pages, healthy snacks, and offer tips to de-stress during finals. Resources for the counseling center on campus and local mental health resources were also given to students if they needed additional assistance. The program was repeated during finals as the first event had a high attendance rate.
